What started it?

After staying on a houseboat in Key West, Florida we instantly knew this was a perfect fit for our amazing wine region in Essex County. 

History

Established in 2018, The Vintage Grapes quickly became a favourite stay by locals and tourists becoming a staple in Colchester Harbour. In 2020 we added The Vintage Merlot & The Vintage Cabern "Eh" to our fleet to accommodate more guests during the summer months. With no plans of stopping there we're always updating and expanding our fleet!

"Have you ever slept on a boat? We hadn’t so our stay at was VERY memorable! They have three restored houseboats cleverly named The Vintage Grape, Cabern”Eh”, and Merlot docked at Colchester Beach and Harbour. We stayed on The Vintage Grape and loved it. It has a full kitchen and washroom, but you also get access to the marina’s facilities which we found super helpful when getting ready. Stay here for EPIC sunrises, sunsets and stargazing!" "Our second spot for accommodations was not one I have ever done before and was quite skeptical. To my surprise, it was truly one to remember. This was my first time sleeping on a boat and I must say is definitely unique and a must try. They are three boats available and we stayed on the Cabern Eh Houseboat.
